OUR GOALS
What do we aim to achieve?
1
To establish a school parliament in all of the participating centres. We believe that involve students in the decision-making process concerning issues that affect them will aproach them to democracy. It will also benefit them in other ways, as they will learn to work autonomously, it will teach them to develop critical and responsible thinking, and they will have to learn to debate and respect the opinions of others.
4
To provide teachers with guidelines to help their students develop critical thinking and responsibility. Special training and workshops would be proposed in order to facilitate teachers to achieve this.
2
To develop linguistic competence, since they must learn to justify their opinions and convince their classmates with persuasive arguments. As well as working on improving their native language on a daily basis in the classroom, students will be required to communicate in English with other student representatives from the other participating schools in virtual meetings.
5
To teach students about the importance of the European Parliament. (What prompted its formation, its benefits, purposes, history, etc ). All membres of the association will encourage students to research on this topic, including this activity as one of the criteria for the mobility proposed students.
7
To teach students to accept other ideas and ways of thinking; work on active listening skills and encourage tolerance. Through this objective we'll pursue the improvement of relationships among our students.
3
To develop digital competence, since the students will have to present proposals digitally to their classmates, and also, to the students from the other schools by using different platforms such as Teams or Zoom. These meetins will be held monthly ( except for July and August) by the Parliament representatives of each class whitin the context of the 'School European Parliament'.
6
The sixth objective is to develop teamwork not only within the classroom when preparing proposals, but also among the student-representatives who will be required to carry out the mobilities.
